Paddington Surveyors is a professional surveying practice based in Paddington, London W2. We are accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Residential Property Surveyors Association (RPSA). Our surveyors carry out building surveys, homebuyer reports, party wall agreements, valuations and expert witness work across Central London.

2. Use of This Website

You may use this Site for lawful purposes only. You must not:

  • Use the Site in any way that breaches applicable local, national or international law or regulation.

4. Surveying Services – Instructions & Engagement

4.1 Instruction

A contract for surveying services is formed when we confirm acceptance of your written or verbal instruction (including via email or our online quote form) and you pay the agreed fee or deposit.

4.2 Fees & Payment

Fees are quoted on a fixed-price basis and confirmed in our engagement letter. Payment is due in full prior to delivery of the survey report unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept bank transfer and major debit/credit cards.

4.3 Scope of Surveys

All surveys are carried out in accordance with the relevant RICS practice statements and guidance notes applicable to the survey type instructed. Our surveys are visual inspections only and do not include opening up, testing of services, or specialist investigations unless expressly agreed.

4.4 Cancellation

  • Cancellations received more than 48 hours before the survey date: full refund.
  • Cancellations received within 48 hours of the survey date: 50% of the fee is retained to cover abortive costs.
  • Cancellations on the day of the survey or where access cannot be gained: the full fee is payable.

4.5 Reliance on Reports

Survey reports are addressed to the named client and prepared for their sole use. Reports must not be relied upon by, or disclosed to, third parties without our prior written consent. Third parties who rely on reports without our consent do so entirely at their own risk.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Our total liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with surveying services is limited to the fee paid for the specific survey giving rise to the claim.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, special or punitive loss including loss of profit, loss of data, or loss of business opportunity.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
  • We carry Professional Indemnity Insurance as required by RICS.

6. Complaints Procedure

We are committed to providing a professional and high-quality service. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our work:

  1. Step 1 – Contact us directly: Email complaints@paddingtonsurveyors.com with full details. We will acknowledge within 3 working days and aim to resolve within 21 days.
  2. Step 2 – RICS Dispute Resolution Service: If we cannot resolve the complaint, you may refer the matter to the RICS Dispute Resolution Service at rics.org.

7. Privacy

Your use of this Site and our services is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Site, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in that policy.

8. Third-Party Links
